
Mashreq, one of the leading financial institutions in the MENA region, has officially launched its full services digital retail bank in Pakistan, Mashreq Bank Pakistan, in the presence of His Excellency Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.

This launch marks the first full-scale international deployment of Mashreq’s award-winning digital banking platform outside the UAE. The event was attended by key dignitaries including Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Minister of Finance & Revenue, Jameel Ahmad, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, and Mr. Mohammad Sultan Al-Kaitoob from the UAE Embassy. Also present were Mashreq’s Chairman H.E. Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair and Group CEO Ahmed Abdelaal.

Innovative Digital Services for Pakistanis
Mashreq is introducing Mashreq NEO for individuals and Mashreq NEOBiz for SMEs. These services will provide a 24/7, paperless, mobile-first experience, offering zero-fee ATM withdrawals, AI-driven risk controls, and free debit cards. Overseas Pakistanis in the UAE will also be able to open bank accounts in Pakistan and seamlessly remit funds.
Investment and Talent Development
Mashreq has committed USD 100 million by 2025 to strengthen Pakistan operations, including its Global Capability Centre, Mashreq Global Network (MGN). Currently employing more than 415 professionals in tech, compliance, credit, HR, and customer service, MGN Pakistan aims to double its workforce, positioning Pakistan as a hub for scalable digital innovation.
