News Release: Egypt to Participate with 10 Children in the Street Child World Cup 2026 in Mexico
In a significant move reflecting resilience and the power of social inclusion, a team of 10 children from Egypt is set to represent the nation at the Street Child World Cup 2026 in Mexico. This initiative, driven by Aspire Community Transformation in collaboration with Nafas, marks a pivotal chapter in using sports as a tool for sustainable social development.
A Global Platform for Rights and Advocacy The Street Child World Cup, organized by Street Child United, is a unique global platform that transcends the boundaries of traditional sport. It combines high-level football with international advocacy, raising awareness of the complex challenges faced by street-connected children globally. The 2026 tournament aims to challenge the deep-seated stigma surrounding these youths while promoting their fundamental rights to protection, education, and a dignified life. Beyond the competitive matches, the event features dialogue sessions and empowerment activities, giving the children a rare opportunity to engage directly with global decision-makers.
Empowerment Through Long-Term Development The journey of the Egypt Street Child World Cup 2026 team is the result of a rigorous 10-month development program implemented by Aspire Community Transformation. Unlike standard sports training, this program leverages football as a mechanical tool to drive social impact. The pathway includes intensive physical training paired with psychological support and life-skills workshops. These sessions are designed to equip the participants with the confidence and resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges long after the final whistle in Mexico.
Strategic Partnerships for Social Change Building on extensive expertise in “Sport for Development,” Aspire has partnered with Nafas, a community-based organization that has focused on empowering at-risk youth since 2013. Together, they have prepared the team to compete at an international level while ensuring they receive necessary connections to healthcare and education.
Nanis Yousry, Director of Aspire Community Transformation, shared her vision: “We believe sport is a powerful pillar for social change. Our program goes beyond preparing for a tournament; it focuses on empowering these children to build a better future and ensuring their voices are heard on the world stage.”
Ibrahim Shash, CEO of Nafas, added: “This journey to Mexico ensures that every child is seen and supported. It is about building a future where sport becomes a gateway to dignity and inclusion.”
Call for Community Support Egypt’s participation in 2026 reflects a strong commitment to youth integration. Aspire and Nafas invite partners and sponsors to support this inspiring journey, helping these 10 ambassadors prove that with the right opportunity, every child can achieve meaningful success.
