EGYPTAIR and Huawei Sign Strategic Agreement to Drive Digital Transformation and Boost Business Travel

EGYPTAIR, the national carrier of Egypt, and Huawei, a global leader in information and communications technology (ICT), have signed a Business Travel Agreement on EGYPTAIR’s network in addition to a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The agreements aim to strengthen the companies’ commitment to Egypt’s economic development while positioning EGYPTAIR as the airline partner for Huawei employees worldwide.

Strengthening EGYPTAIR’s Digital Transformation

During the signing ceremony at EGYPTAIR headquarters in Cairo, Captain Ahmad Adel, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Holding, emphasized the importance of the partnership.

“The partnership with Huawei represents a significant strategic leap that will add true value to EGYPTAIR,” said Captain Adel.

He highlighted that Huawei’s advanced digital solutions and smart communications technologies will support EGYPTAIR’s digital transformation strategy, helping to:

  • Enhance operational efficiency.

  • Upgrade the airline’s technical infrastructure.

  • Improve the customer experience across all travel checkpoints.

Captain Adel further added that combining EGYPTAIR’s longstanding aviation expertise with Huawei’s cutting-edge innovations will open new global market opportunities, attract diverse customer segments, and expand digital services with more flexible solutions for passengers.

Exclusive Business Travel Services for Huawei Employees

Captain Mohamed Elian, Chairman and CEO of EGYPTAIR Airlines, described the agreement as the start of a truly global collaboration.

“Through this agreement, we are combining the strength of EGYPTAIR’s worldwide network with Huawei’s innovation in telecommunications and technology.”

He explained that the Business Travel Agreement guarantees Huawei employees and guests exclusive services on EGYPTAIR’s extensive route network of over 80 destinations worldwide, supported by professional teams.

The agreement also coincides with EGYPTAIR’s fleet modernization and network expansion plans, further enhancing global connectivity.

Strategic Agreements Signed in Cairo

The agreements were formalized through two signings:

  • Captain Mohamed Elian and Ms. Lang Cao, Vice President of Huawei Global Business Travel, signed the Business Travel Agreement to enhance Huawei’s sales on EGYPTAIR’s network.

  • Engineer Yasser Omran, EGYPTAIR Holding VP of Information Technology, and Mr. Dou Yong, Huawei Egypt Senior Vice President, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand cooperation in digital transformation.

This MoU enables EGYPTAIR to leverage Huawei’s AI-powered solutions and digital infrastructure to:

  • Improve operational performance.

  • Enhance passenger services.

  • Accelerate the airline’s digital transformation journey.

Huawei’s Perspective on the Partnership

Ms. Lang Cao, Vice President of Huawei Global Business Travel, said:

“This partnership with EGYPTAIR will strengthen cross-continental travel, boost economic ties, and create new opportunities for cultural exchange. It is not only about improving corporate travel, but also enabling individual travelers to explore Egypt’s history, culture, and hospitality.”
