Belal Zahran: The program bridges the gap between academia and the job market, empowering youth to excel in the F&B sector

Foodics, the leading provider of restaurant management and fintech solutions in the MENA region, has launched the second edition of its summer internship program, “Foodics Folks”, in Egypt. The program is designed for university students aged 18 to 21, offering them a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in restaurant management and operations.

Hands-On Experience in Foodics’ Egypt Office

The month-long program begins with two weeks of intensive training at Foodics’ Egypt office. Students rotate across departments including HR, sales, marketing, accounting, onboarding, and software, gaining exposure to different functions that drive a successful business.

Real-World Training in Top Egyptian Restaurants

The second phase of the internship involves two weeks of practical training in 10 leading restaurants in Egypt: Dancing Goat, Holy Buns, Sno, Eden Bakery, Budz, Dirty Cookie, Pastini, Shakour, Coop, and Hola Tacos.
This stage blends theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, helping students understand:

  • Restaurant operations from end to end

  • How Foodics’ solutions optimize workflows

  • Ways technology improves customer service, drives marketing, and enhances management efficiency

Building Skills Beyond Operations

Alongside technical training, Foodics emphasizes the development of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. This holistic approach ensures students graduate from the program with both professional expertise and personal growth.

Bigger and More Impactful in Its Second Edition

This year, the Foodics Folks internship program expands significantly, targeting 20 students. The initiative reflects Foodics’ commitment to empowering Egyptian youth, equipping them with the skills to either start their own ventures or secure jobs in the fast-growing F&B industry.

By fostering a new generation of skilled professionals, Foodics is also contributing to the broader development of the restaurant sector in Egypt and the region.
