At the Huawei Cloud Summit Northern Africa 2025, Hu Hang, General Manager of International Business at Huawei Hybrid Cloud, officially announced the launch of Huawei Cloud Stack 8.5 in Northern Africa. He highlighted the platform’s strengths in hybrid cloud innovation and reaffirmed Huawei’s commitment to its “One Customer, One Cloud” development strategy. The new release is designed to help governments and enterprises in the region unlock greater cloud value and accelerate digital and intelligent transformation.
Huawei Cloud Stack 8.5: Empowering the Next Phase of Digital Transformation
As the global demand for digital and AI-powered services increases, cloud adoption is accelerating across all sectors. In Northern Africa, organizations are prioritizing localized deployment and rapid adaptation of cloud technologies to meet local market needs—making hybrid cloud the infrastructure of choice.
Hu Hang emphasized:
“Digital transformation is a long journey, often filled with uncertainty. Huawei Cloud Stack 8.5 addresses our customers’ key needs for security, reliability, and agility, delivering over 120 out-of-the-box cloud services in Northern Africa. These include cloud-native capabilities, data lakes, and AI applications.”
He noted that Huawei Cloud Stack introduces advanced hybrid cloud innovations such as the “Ten Unifications” framework for managing heterogeneous resources, and a cloud federation architecture that supports multi-cloud strategies. The platform also features 50+ industry-tailored solutions developed in collaboration with customers and partners.
The “Ten Unifications”: Streamlining Heterogeneous IT Resource Management
Huawei Cloud Stack removes technical silos across physical infrastructure, virtualization layers, private clouds, and public clouds. It unifies service catalogs and O&M (operations and maintenance) processes, supporting more than five public clouds and ten private/virtualization platforms.
With the ManageOne unified cloud management platform, customers can oversee the entire lifecycle of all IT assets, eliminating the need to toggle between separate management tools.
Cloud Federation: Seamless Hybrid Cloud Experience
Huawei Cloud Stack shares the same technical architecture as Huawei Cloud. Its cloud federation framework allows account and service integration between on-premises environments and the public cloud, giving users access to more than 200 services and 3,500 ecosystem products.
The platform supports cross-cloud orchestration, scheduling, and management, allowing enterprises to host non-sensitive workloads on the public cloud while keeping critical data and operations securely on private infrastructure.
One Customer, One Cloud: Tailored Digital Empowerment
Guided by the “One Customer, One Cloud” approach, Huawei Cloud Stack delivers hardware-software synergy, innovative services, local operational expertise, and scenario-specific solutions.
Taking a Technology × Service × Ecosystem strategy, Huawei has built over 50 tailored solutions for industries such as telecommunications, finance, government, and energy. These solutions empower customers to build resilient, cost-efficient, and innovative digital ecosystems.
Supporting Telecom Transformation: From Telco to Techco
As global telecom operators shift from traditional telco roles to technology-driven enterprises (Techco), Huawei Cloud Stack is playing a vital role in this transformation across Northern Africa.
Johnny Lv, CTO of International Business at Huawei Hybrid Cloud, stated:
“Huawei Cloud Stack offers a reliable cloud foundation and a wide array of services tailored for the telecom sector. We have launched six scenario-based solutions including Fintech, Marketing Big Data, AICC, Cloud Phone, Cloud Storage, and Cloud PC to help carriers optimize their platforms and unlock new growth opportunities”.
